TAAPCS News Release on Alberta 2022 Budget

Press Release
The Association of Alberta Public Charter Schools

February 24, 2022

The Association of Public Charter Schools is issuing the following
statement with respect to the Alberta Government’s Budget 2022:

“Engagement and choice are hallmarks of Alberta’s greatest educational
successes. For over 25 years, TAAPCS students, families, teachers, leaders and
educational partners are proud to have reliably contributed to serving Albertan
public education requirements for meaningful educational choice and
engagement.

With this budget, against relentless challenge, the Alberta government continues
to deliver on its promises. This budget will support education in Alberta and
facilitate responsible expansion of public charter school education, by recognizing
the need for fair access to capital funding.

Alberta’s public charter schools strongly support the vision of collegiate
programming and look forward to engaging new partners to focus on optimal
learning, deliver distinctive programming, and support innovation that helps
students move effectively to post-secondary education.

We are grateful for the Alberta government’s ongoing support. The commitment
to fund access to facilities meeting Alberta’s high standards for effective learning
environments will directly benefit student learning and serve our families on par
with all other public schools.”
